Egg Omelet Sushi

Sounds pretty interesting huh?
Sushi with egg omelet...yeah, very interesting and new to most of people.

Because today is GOOD FRIDAY, I made a special brunch for my family-using heaps of eggs.

Chop a tomato, a spring onion, a half of a carrot and a half of an onion and pour into a big bowl.
Then whisk altogether in 6 eggs.
Make sure you season it with salt! (Japanese people sprinkle sugar into the egg omelet mixture instead of salt, so I will try this way next time).

Now...this is the most difficult step in this recipe.

I was very upset when the egg roll wasn't rolling properly.

Anyway, I managed to make a egg omelet roll and cover it with dried seaweed!
Then, mix cooked rice with tuna, salt, sesame. You MUST have tuna (since I didn't have tuna today, I...just seasoned rice with salt and sesame).
Put the rice on to another seaweed and make sure that it is not too thick.
Put the egg roll over it and now roll it together!

cut into pieces and TA-DA

BON APPETIT!

Egg omelet sushi tasted great and can make people very full with only a few pieces!
But tuna, must needed since it can be bland.

Apricot and Chocolate Pastry

Need Puff Pastry, Canned Apricot, Milk Chocolate, Icing sugar and sugar syrup.

Very easy to make pastry garnish!
Cut the pastry into same sized pieces and put the garnish over it, then put them into oven!
10-15minutes under 150 degree Celsius and watch them frequently since they can go black in a sec if you miss out!!!

When they are golden brown, brush them with sugar syrup or the apricot syrup from the can!
Garnish with icing sugar for the last step!!

BON APPETIT!

Yellow scones are pumpkin scones.
Taste: mmmm not bad not tasty, which means I shouldn't have used pumpkin..
But cranberries are still awesome.

Scones

Personally, I would go for cheese scones, because there are only dates, sultana, blueberry and cheese scones in the market. Therefore I always had cheese scones without hesitation.
(Some people may like/love blueberries scones, but, to me, they just look like they're having moulds on the surface!! No offense by the way, it's only my personal opinion).

Anyway, by getting sick of cheese scones, I started thinking of new flavors of scones that cannot be seen easily in NZ cafe!

So I used mixed berries scones with so much expectations!
YAYYYY

NOT

As you can see the picture below, the scones look hideous to me!
The reason why is that...
first, I put a little bit more of milk & egg mixture into the dough that should have right amount, not more than required,
second, I used iced mixed berries, not dried berries!!!!!!!
God, I should have used dried berries since iced berries eventually melt while mixing them in the dough altogether!
That is why the scones have so many bruises on them!!

They are particularly smaller than other scones, because I wanted to make a bite size- like chicken nuggets! Put it in the mouth and swallow, and grab another one into the mouth and swallow, and grab another one....
Taste: EXCELLENT! but they are as soft as muffins...because of the mistakes that I made before..
sob sob sob...

(My friend told me that they look like stones. Stones???? Stones???????????)

HOWEVER!!!

I couldn't give up for scones!!!!!!

Baked again for better taste and better looking scones!!!
This time, I used right amount of milk & egg mixture and dried cranberries!!!
I feel good~~~~I feeeeeeel good~~~~~~~

The dough wasn't as sticky as the previous 'stone' scones, and they looked beautiful.
Put them in the oven and waited for 10-15min!
(Recipe said bake it for 20-25min but I don't know why it took so fast!)

Ta-Da~

Taste: AWESOME, WONDERFUL, MARVELOUS, GRACIOUS...etc.

Perfect texture, and it was amazing cranberries scones!!!

But, I kinda burnt some scones at the back of the picture, because I placed them too close to the oven grill.
So their color changed so fast!! But others were all golden brown!!!

One more thing, I should use UNSALTED butter, not the normal one.
They taste a bit salty to me, but they are wonderful as I mentioned above.

Can you believe that those scones are the first scones that I've ever baked??
I'm so pleased and proud of my ability :))))))
